Fortnite, released through EPIC Games, Fortnite battle royale is a free-to-play video game. The apocalypse is here, and the world is full of zombies, this is the theme of the game. Fortnite has been an enormous success to EPIC Games studios.

Although the game industry is already packed with this type of “shooter” games, Fortnite battle royale has become one of the most played games all over the world. Anyone can play a fully functional game for free though there are some items you should buy to make for a fun gaming — that why it’s considered a distinct type of business models.

Fortnite was offered as a free game, which has proven to be the fuel that has launched its stunning and immediate success. In the first ten months, following its announcement in July 2017, Fortnite gathered a community of 125 million gamers and profited $1.2 billion.

So how does EPIC Games profit? Battle Pass makes the majority of Fortnite’s income. The $10 battle pass gives the purchasing player “privileged” access to the updates to the map and personal customizations that the non-battle pass player will not have. Additionally, it allows the player to buy delightful accessories for a lower price.

This is not unusual. It is pretty similar to buying a supermarket card that will enable you to get products at a special rate that is lower than the non-card holders’ price. Again, the perception of paid subscription makes you feel quite special.
